DUAL FREQUENCY LAUNCHES FREE INTERACTIVE DIVERSITY CALENDAR TO RAISE AWARENESS OF KEY DATES IN 2021

LONDON, 1ST DECEMBER 2020: The UK’s first free social justice teaching resource provider, Dual Frequency, has released an interactive diversity calendar to highlight inclusion and awareness in 2021. The calendar is the first of its kind to be made freely available to schools, teachers and equality, diversity and inclusion networks around the UK.

Charlotte Andrew, children’s social care engagement manager and co-founder of Dual Frequency: “It’s important to mark meaningful milestones and anniversaries, particularly in such turbulent times. The interactive diversity calendar came about because we were looking for something to help us plan key dates to celebrate with all the communities we collaborate with. What we were looking for didn’t exist, so we created it. The best way to learn about different cultures, communities, religions and so forth, is with them, alongside them, as allies. We encourage this all year round.”

Carly Hind, educator and co-founder of Dual Frequency: “As an educator, this interactive calendar is a tool that I can access daily; I know the quick access to information and resources will be invaluable to me and to my students. I’ll be using it frequently in my classrooms, and across a range of age groups. I hope many other schools will do the same. Ultimately, the best way for us to show future generations that we’re a tolerant and inclusive society, is by actually including references to communities that are not ours, in our day-to-day lives and in the values and awareness we instill in our young people.”

ABOUT DUAL FREQUENCY

Founded by partners, advocates and campaigners for social justice, Charlotte Andrew and Carly Hind, Dual Frequency launched in May 2020 to amplify the words and efforts of those making strides towards a more inclusive world. Since May, the founders have released two issues of their digital magazine, a podcast and various teaching resources to highlight subjects such as children’s rights, gender equality, and positive representation.

When they’re not campaigning and working on Dual Frequency in their free time, Charlotte is an engagement manager in children’s social care and Carly is a full-time educator. Both are parents. Dual Frequency is the UK’s first, free social justice teaching resource provider aimed to support dialogue around inclusion.
